Madoka Magica Figures by Max Factory – Part 1

I want to take a look at my Max Factory figures of Kyoko and Sayaka from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I realize that in doing so I risk taking this blog down a slippery slope of non-Nanoha franchise figures. However, Madoka Magica is still technically a magical girl anime, albeit a dark and brooding one.

What a surprise! I was not expecting my pre-Order of Nanoha Takamachi in her summer yukata to arrive for a few more weeks, but here she is! This was my first purchase from AmiAmi (http://www.amiami.com/) and I am impressed with the early shipping.

What better way to celebrate the announcement of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid anime than by taking a look at Alter‘s Vivio Takamachi 1/8th Scale PVC?

Alter 1/8 Scale Nanoha Takamachi School Uniform Ver.

 

My favorite Nanoha PVC is Alter‘s 1/8 Scale figure of Nanoha in her school uniform, sculpted by Noburu Akedagawa. Out of all my other figures, this is my favorite because I see it as representing all that I love about the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Alter did an excellent job with this figure; the pose is fluid and the details are precise. The accessories and interchangeable parts provide the figure with enough versatility to be displayed in different configurations.

On Why I Buy Figures

Often I am asked why I buy figures. The question is not posed directly, but with an inquisitive look when I mention I collect figures. To the uninitiated, figure collecting is an anomaly. Especially the collecting of anime character figures.
